Basic Function of Float Shoe
Float Shoe is assembled with the back pressure inside it,
and provided with Cement or metal or plastic nose having appropriate roundness for making easier for casing while running in hole having annular difficulties.
Basic Function of Guide Shoe
The guide shoe is set on the first joint of casing and its round nose assists to casing while running in hole past annular ledges, obstructions and other irregularities.
The function of Guide Shoe is to assist casing running in hole, allowing circulation of mud, hole cleaning and placement of cement slurry.
Basic Function of Float Collar
Float Collar is positioned one or three joints above the Guide Shoe or Float Shoe. It provides a landing platform to cementing plugs.
The space between Float Shoe and Float Collar contains contaminated fluid resulting from wiping action of top cementing plug.
