Guide Shoe
The guide shoe, which is run on the bottom of the casing string, is used mainly for guiding the casing into the borehole.
A guide shoe is a protective cap at the end of the casing string, which makes it easier to insert the string into the hole.
A guide shoe is installed on the bottom joint of casing and is usually combined with a float collar in the casing string for conventional cementing operations.
